  Very insightful article. Thanks for posting.

  I especially related to the part about how the "outside world is meaningless"; and that it took talking to another member, who had become disillusioned with the community, for his mind to start opening up. In my own case, I had to dis-illusion myself before I could make the break; hopefully the WTBTS is filling up with disgruntled and disillusioned members who are starting to talk to one another, which would lead to the implosion of the whole sorry edifice in my lifetime...(one can only hope).

  my parents are quite popular in their congregation, and they're constantly inviting brothers and sisters over.

  as i've been part of the org for 19 years i know all these people very well, and before i da'd myself i was good friends with all of them.

  every other friday they invite a single brother round for dinner, just to cheer him up a bit.

  Whenever someone starts up with the "how close we are to the end" stuff, I just say "I didn't want to continue marinating in the doomsday atmosphere of the KH, that's why I no longer go." Gets very quiet after that...on to next topic...hope that helps! Works for me.

  Eiben, that was FANTASTIC! Can I relate? HELL, YEAH! Millions probably can relate to your 'experience'.

  OK, so we weren't physically separated from the rest of Society, not exactly like groups such as David Koresh's at WACO, or the compound at Bountiful in B.C., but having this particular mindf*** of an experience, from an early age, effectively shut us born-iners or the indoctrinated early out of mainstream Society and we think we're 'chosen' when really we're BRAINWASHED. You have such an amazing way of telling your story and I love the humor - this needs to be a book. Anxiously awaiting the next instalment!

  as books go, it is tiny, but it is immeasurably great in its essence.

  it can be carried in ones pocket,but if it were found in a library of 90,000 different books, it would probably turn out to be the most important one of them all.. wow a strong endorsement of the bible?

  Isn't there some law against quoting phantoms? "well-known Mexican writer" my ass...

  Who has the cojones to send this as a Question from Readers - ahem... "Dear Brothers: Please assist me in locating and possibly interviewing the well-known Mexican writer quoted in the April 2012 Awake? Based on his ringing endorsement, I need to get me that there book you're toutin immediately - please send 500 copies"...yada yada.

  Then at the back of the June Awake, we can expect to hear about Heraldo's (not his real name) exciting experience of delivering over 500 books based on the "well-known Mexican writer"'s ringing endorsement blah blah blah.

  because i turn my back on the cult.. today i feel sorry for them and it,s not hate they.

  feel.. they way i see it, first of all it,s frustrating serving a. god that you can never please, serving a god that.

  Elders COs just don't know what to do about attendance dropping. Field service is a joke. On those two key issues they are lowering standards. Less meetings, less magazines to read. Yes, the GB will remain lashing out and getting tougher.But regular JWs are just not listening, or just don't care.

  Best news I've read all week ... maybe the whole religion will just apathetize itself right out of existence...the end is getting nearer!

  troubled former witness calls legal department at the watchtower organization.............. dale beckman says, can the "society" be guilty of "alienation of affection?

  " in my case, my family has been told it is proper to hate me and to do nothing to help me in any way - otherwise, they could be considered a sharer in my works of "unforgivable sin.

  " they are told not to even greet me.

  What a horrible situation - thanks for posting this. Can't say I enjoyed watching, but it was an eye-opener for sure. My heart aches for the children in this saga most of all.

  The law, as we all know, is an ass. These days, at least we have the Court of Public Opinion - I think this might make a very interesting Oprah show...not sure how to go about getting it there but for sure it would stimulate debate all around. Shine a very bright light into a very dark corner...make some people SQUIRM - other minds more capable than mine could perhaps guide this brother in his next moves. It is so very commendable to see his lack of vindictive mood and intent, I think that gives him all the more credibility. As he mentioned, he is documenting his journey, which saga could make a very interesting book/movie in the near future. Kudos on the tape of the call to the Legal Department. I wish him Godspeed and am interested to be kept updated on this journey - have taken note of his website.

  Gearing up for another David/Goliath showdown - we all know who won that one!
